We are passionate about horseshoeing here at BHS and we take ownership in our student's education from the moment you enroll and continue to be a guide and support for our students after graduation. Bluegrass Horseshoeing School is located in stunning Prestonsburg, KY! In the heart of East Kentucky and the Appalachian Mountains, we proudly serve a dynamic and diverse horse community. Founded by Farrier Dan Helton, CJF, and Kim Helton our school delivers a robust curriculum designed by a 33-year working Farrier for future working Farriers. BHS directly addresses the challenges Farriers face in their everyday work. With a strong emphasis on forging, live shoeing, and practical classwork, we provide unwavering support to our students during their education and after graduation, ensuring they are fully equipped to thrive in their Farrier careers. Our commitment to a maximum student-to-instructor ratio of 7 students to 1 instructor guarantees that each student receives the personalized attention they deserve. Furthermore, all instructors at Bluegrass Horseshoeing School are certified through the American Farriers Association and have run their own Farrier businesses for at least 10 years.
